Fear of Elevators: How to Overcome Elevators Fears With Hypnosis

The fear of elevators is very complex because it works on different levels. The anxiety and panic you feel when you enter—or think about entering—an elevator can be overwhelming, especially if you have a phobia of elevators. You know in your heart that there is no reason to be afraid and that the lifts are secure and provide a valuable service.

The Levels of Fear of Elevators

It is fitting that lifts would have various levels of fearful elements that compose a possible phobic condition. The anxiousness you feel is due to a combination of elements that make this a potentially threatening situation in your subconscious mind. Taking an objective look at these levels is a good approach to gaining a new perspective.

Level One: Claustrophobia

The nature of the elevator is one that seems to pose a threat to the subconscious mind that fears close spaces. You can overcome the anxiety you feel at the idea of close spaces when you work with your subconscious mind to let go of the feeling of being trapped and replacing it with the objective of the elevator; traveling from one floor to another.

Level Two: Heights

This fear is also linked to the subconscious phobia of heights. You may not recognize this at first but the inner workings of your mind may be afraid of traveling up in the air. You are essentially facing your anxiety about heights when you address your elevator anxiety.

Level Three: Control

The other two levels have a few things in common and the most striking commonality is feeling a loss of control. The sensation of movement while in an enclosed space can wreak havoc on your subconscious, making irrational emotional responses emerge. This is especially problematic because you may not recognize the different levels of fear that you experience.

Transcendence

You can transcend the three levels by addressing each element in the subconscious mind. The best way to accomplish this is to change the unconscious patterns that lead to your emotional response. You can get control of the situation by taking control of your mind.

You can work through your anxiety and phobic responses with the guidance of hypnosis. This approach is effective and it works extremely well with therapeutic interventions like desensitizing and cognitive therapy. You have the ability to overcome your fright with the right support.
